Periodically, the District funds a Project WET seminar for 20 teachers, promoting awareness, appreciation and knowledge of California’s water resources.
Public and private school teachers, K-12, who work or live in the DSRSD service area are eligible to attend the seminar which offers exciting new water-related activities to use in teaching science, math, language arts, social studies and environmental studies.
Seminar participants receive a copy of the 517-page Project WET Curriculum & Activity Guide that’s filled with 91 water-related activities, lunch and breakfast, and $240 compensation for their day of training.
Developed by teachers for teachers, Project WET is sponsored by the Water Education Foundation and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
This seminar is usually offered in June, shortly after school is out of session. To find out more about it, please call Sue Stephenson at (925) 875-2295. |
