In 2016 and 2017, Dublin San Ramon Services District informed customers regarding bacteria in drinking water during routine sampling as described below. In all of these situations, the water was safe to drink at all times. There was never an emergency requiring customers to take action.

However, follow-up samples subsequently tested clean, and the DSRSD water system did not exceed the drinking water standard (maximum contaminant level) for these bacteria. DSRSD notified customers in the affected areas at the request of the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water.
