PUBLIC EDUCATION
AND OUTREACH |
| |
|
| |
When it
comes to pollution prevention we all have a common goal: to
protect the environment. The Districts Pollution Prevention
Program is committed to eliminating and/or reducing pollution
at its source through education and outreach to individuals
and small local businesses. The Districts Pollution Prevention
team participates in several outreach events within the area,
provides classroom presentations to local schools, and inspects
small, commercial businesses.
Classroom Presentations
The Pollution Prevention Program has
a public outreach team that makes classroom presentations throughout
the year. These presentations are designed for specific grade
levels. The presentations focus on ways of eliminating/reducing
pollutants within homes and businesses by using less toxic chemicals
and/or using alternative methods and it also illustrates the
difference between inside sanitary sewer drains and outside
storm drains. If you would like to schedule a classroom presentation,
please contact our Community
Affairs Supervisor at (925)
875-2295, email address stephenson@dsrsd.com,
