DSRSD Receives Clean Audit from Maze & Associates
“Highest Level of Assurance an Auditor Can Give”
At last week’s board meeting, Audit Partner David Alvey of Maze and Associates gave the DSRSD directors a clean audit opinion saying, “This is the highest level of assurance an auditor can give an agency.” Maze and Associates found that DSRSD’s finances were reported correctly (in accordance with accepted principles). The auditors found no significant deficiencies, no material weaknesses, and no other issues (e.g., the District makes it difficult for someone to embezzle or steal). And the auditors were very pleased that DSRSD’s Other Post-Employment Benefits (i.e., medical and dental for retirees) are 97 percent funded, a great example of how the DSRSD Board plans for the long term and is fiscally responsible.
