DSRSD Transitioning from At-Large to Area-Based Elections
You Can Help Draw the Boundaries
In the 2020 election, Dublin San Ramon Services District Directors will no longer be elected at-large, but rather begin the transition to area-based elections. To do so, the District is working with a demographer to help create five election divisions, one for each position on the Board of Directors. Voters residing in each individual area, or division, will select one representative for the Board. If this sounds like something fun and interesting, join the process by attending a meeting or drawing a map online. The first public hearing was held Feb. 5, with three more scheduled. The next meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at The Wave, 4201 Central Parkway, Dublin. For more details (DSRSD demographics, geographic units, baseline maps, certain legal requirements, and FAQ) and dates of subsequent meetings, visit http://www.dsrsd.com/area-based-elections.
