We receive a large number of applications, so we may not be able to personally contact everyone. Step 2.Application Review

We're committed to hiring the best talent for the District. Each application is carefully reviewed by a recruiter to ensure it aligns with the job's specific requirements, qualifications, and the ideal candidate profile. The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the next step of the recruitment process. You can find the ideal candidate profile and required qualifications in the Ideal Candidate and Minimum Qualifications sections of the job posting. Please note, you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for moving forward in the hiring process.

Step 3.Assessments & Testing

Some positions need more assessments or tests. If necessary, you'll receive an email with instructions if you are invited to participate in this process. In certain cases, an in-person assessment might be required. You will be contacted with further information after we review your application.

Step 4.Interview

We conduct interviews by phone, by video conference, and in person. Interviews may involve one-on-one or panel discussions with external subject matter experts, hiring managers, and leadership. You can expect multiple rounds of interviews. If invited to participate, we'll provide detailed information about the interview process in advance to help you prepare.

Step 5.Job Offer Pre-Employment

As part of our hiring process, professional references for shortlisted candidates are conducted by the recruiter. Once completed, the reference feedback is reviewed and, if deemed positive and aligned with the role's expectations, a verbal conditional offer of employment will be made. Feel free to ask questions before accepting. Once accepted, you'll receive a formal written offer letter via email.

After reviewing and accepting the written offer, the District will initiate pre-employment screening, which includes a background verification (including education, work experience, license/certifications, and criminal history), a mandatory pre-employment physical exam, and, depending on the classification, a drug screen or credit check.

Step 6.Onboarding

Before your start date, we'll guide you through pre-employment tasks to ensure a smooth onboarding process. Your first day will include a warm welcome from your team and supervisor, setting the stage for your new role. All positions have a 12-month probationary period. This trial period includes specific training requirements, which vary based on your role. You'll receive more details about this on your first day.

Once you submit a job application for a position you cannot make changes to your application. If you are contacted for an interview, you can provide any additional information to the recruiter at that time.

Yes. Please make sure to carefully review the qualifications for each position before applying.

Each job and hiring process is different but we typically fill an open position in approximately 60-90 days.

Employment offers are contingent upon successful verification of credentials and completion of required background checks, as mandated by law and Dublin San Ramon Services District policies. Every background check evaluates criminal history, and additional screenings may be required depending on the position. A criminal conviction does not automatically disqualify an applicant unless prohibited by law or regulation.

Additional background checks may include:

  • Employment History Verifications
  • Drug Testing
  • Education/Degree Verification
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Professional License and Certification
  • Credit History
