Construction Hydrant Meters
Location for Hydrant Meter Pick-up and Return
Construction meter returns and rental pick-ups are handled at our District Office, 7051 Dublin Boulevard, Dublin between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please email constructionmeter@dsrsd.com or call (925) 828-8524 in advance to coordinate meter pick-up or return with office staff. When an appointment has been made for meter pick-up or return, please report to the rear of the District Office and ring the "construction meter" intercom.
Use Recycled Water for Construction
The District encourages the use of recycled water for construction purposes where it is reasonably available. Uses include grading and compaction, dust control, landscape irrigation, and sewer flushing. Recycled water is available from hydrants and at the water recycling plant in Pleasanton. Recycled water quality data may be found on our Recycled Water Quality Data page.
Recycled Water Construction Meters and Hydrants
Purple recycled water hydrants are located throughout the District’s service area (map(PDF, 697KB)). To use these hydrants, you must obtain a purple recycled water construction meter from the District. Recycled water hydrants have unique nozzles that do not fit the District’s yellow potable water construction meters. This minimizes the possibility of cross connections between the potable and recycled water distribution systems.
Please call Utility Billing/Customer Service at (925) 828-8524 to make an appointment for picking up a construction meter. You will be asked to complete a Water Reuse Permit(PDF, 651KB) and Construction Meter Use Agreement(PDF, 522KB) and pay a deposit (check only) and any applicable fees. The District Office is located at 7051 Dublin Blvd. in Dublin and is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Where recycled water distribution mains are adjacent to a construction site, DSRSD may allow temporary connection to the distribution main. For more information, call (925) 828-0515 and follow menu prompts to Engineering, construction permits.
