District Policies
The Board of Directors adopts District policies establishing the District’s course of action as required by law, the District Code, regulations, District contracts, or at the sole prerogative of the Board. A policy provides a basis for consistent decision-making to guide and determine present and future decisions. A policy is also used to establish rules of conduct for the Board on matters related to District business.
Policies are reviewed on a regular basis and can be modified or rescinded at any time by the Board. Policies differ from the procedures, directives, rules, and similar documents issued by the General Manager and administered by staff in support of District policies.
