DSRSD Selects New Director for Division 2

DUBLIN, Calif. (October 10, 2025) – On October 7, Edward (Ed) Duarte was officially sworn in to the Dublin San Ramon Services District Board of Directors to serve as the Division 2 representative for southwest San Ramon.
The Division 2 seat became vacant when former Director Ann Marie Johnson resigned as of August 29, following her professional retirement. On September 9, the Board voted to fill the vacancy by direct appointment with Duarte, who previously served on the DSRSD Board of Directors from 2012 to 2020.
The appointment went into effect immediately, as new Director Duarte was sworn in as a Director for the remainder of the meeting. He will serve the second half of the remaining four-year term through December 2026. The next election for the Division 2 seat will be in November 2026.
“I’m honored to return to the DSRSD Board and appreciate the trust the Board has placed in me,” Duarte said. “I’m excited to serve again and continue supporting the great work happening at DSRSD.”
About the new Director
Director Duarte has lived in San Ramon since 1979. A general engineering contractor for more than 50 years, Director Duarte professionally retired in 2022 after owning and operating a construction firm that specializes in public works projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Fresno State University and is a graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Business, Management Development for Entrepreneurs program. He is a member of the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, and he previously served on the San Ramon Citizen’s Advisory Committee for Redevelopment and the San Ramon Rotary.
